When you fundraise with the PCDAA, 60% of the profit earned from your sales goes back into your PCDAA credit account. These credits can be used for competition entry fees, choreography fees, pianist fees when applicable, workshop fees, and exam fees. The other 40% of your profit goes into the PCDAA general account to cover costs not permitted by AGLC gaming funds e.g. all of our social events, and reimbursement of one recital ticket per dancer.
Additionally, each fundraiser will have a special criterion which helps you earn travel points. You must earn six travel points for one child, 8 for 2 and 10 for 3 children to earn your total travel subsidy. However, if you do not have your maximum points, you can still receive a portion of the subsidy for any points you do earn. The value of these travel points will be determined close to the time of travel when all members have had the opportunity to get all points needed. You do not get extra travel subsidy if you earn more than the requirement for your family. For example if you have ten travel points earned, but only one child dancing, you will be allowed one travel subsidy. Please participate in the fundraisers even after achieving your requirements for travel points, to earn additional credits, and to replenish the PCDAA general account so we can cantinue offering workshops, scholarships etc.
If you have any fundraising ideas please feel free to share them at dseebach@telus.net or leave them in her folder, Samantha Seebach, at the studio. All suggestions will be considered, but please understand we try and do the fundraisers that give us the best profit margins.
Fundraising for 2011/2012 season has begun. As you register as a PCDAA member you will be given a fundraising package detailing fundraiser being done until Christmas. Most, you may start selling anytime, making sure your orders are in before the deadlines listed for each product.
